Henedine L. ~ Piano
Henedine was born and raised in the Philippines. Her first piano lessons started at an early
age with her mother, who was, herself, a piano teacher.
After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance, Henedine took her graduate studies in Munich, Germany, through a full scholarship from the German Student Exchange Service. Upon completing Graduate School, she accepted a teaching position at the Jugendmusikschule in Frankfurt, Germany, where she taught for several years. She has been a longtime active member of the Music Teachers National Association, as well as, a member of state and local music teacher associations. Henedine has performed numerous recitals and concerts in the Philippines, Germany, Maryland, Colorado and New York City. She has frequently been invited to judge auditions and competitions. Lessons will include Theory, Sight Reading, Ear Training, Rhythm, Improvisation, Performance, and occasionally the student will be given written assignments. There are two annual recitals and various other musical activities. Henedine uses the “FREE FIRST LESSON/AUDITION” to get to know the student, (and parent or guardian), to make the student feel comfortable and relaxed. The student will, then be introduced to the keyboard – recognizing the groups of black and white keys; how to sit at the piano; correct hand position; finger numbers, and, if time permits, I usually teach a very simple song by rote, so the new student can feel a sense of accomplishment by having, already, learned to play a song.
