Sept 16-20: Adding Feeling to Music

Many of you have heard me ask, "Does that song sound happy or sad?" as you play a new piece. The notes that we play and the way that we play them express feeling in music.

So, which do you like best? Happy music? Sad music? Loud, angry music? Soft, calming music? Spooky music?... There's many different kinds!

This week, I want you to decide what your piano practice music feels like - the musical expression that it conveys. Some of your songs have words which give you clues. I'll be looking for your answers during our lessons next week. Remember, you'll get an extra $10 music bucks... :)

Extra Credit: Make up a story and draw a picture about the music - and bring it class for an extra $25 music bucks!
