Here's what happens when a 2 yr old has a music teacher for a mom!

At our household, everyone gets a heavy dose of music. Jessica, the founder of Jessica's Piano Studio incorporates music for just about everything. When the boys are starting to get frustrated with each other--the classical music starts getting piped in. On long trips when everyone is ready to be there--the music kicks in. At bed time--against Micaiah's orders--the classical music is played.

The default setting at our household is "let's play some music". No wonder our boys find it completely natural to sit at the piano and bang out a simple tune while they sing--even at 22 months! Looking back, I probably should have expected it. What else would you imagine a piano pedagogy major doing with her children?

In all honesty, I wouldn't want it any other way. Our children are growing up with a love and appreciation for music. Not only do they hear it all the time, it actually affects them.

By the way, anyone can introduce their children to the world of music. All you need to do is make a conscious effort to have music going all the time--it just happens more naturally at our home :)
